How we use cookies

CELLOFANANDO uses cookies to offer its users personalised services. The cookies used differ according to their purpose and use.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text strings which the websites visited by the user send to his terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored before being transmitted back to the same websites during the next visit by the same user. Whilst browsing a website, the user’s terminal may also receive cookies sent from other websites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), on which some elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, links to specific pages on other domains) of the website that he is visiting may be present. We can identify two main categories: “technical” and “profiling” cookies.

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “transmitting information through an electronic communications network, or which are strictly necessary for the provision of an information service as explicitly requested by the subscriber or user” (see Art 122, paragraph 1, of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code). They are not used for additional purposes and are usually installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or an authentication to access restricted areas); analytical cookies, similar to technical ones when used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregate form, concerning the number of users and how they visit the website; functionality cookies, which allow a user to browse on the basis of a set of selected criteria (for example, language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service given to the user. Prior user approval is not required to install these cookies, while it leaves untouched the obligation to provide the information pursuant to art 13 of the Code, which the operator of the website, should he only use such devices, may provide in the manner he deems most appropriate.

Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are designed to create the user’s profiles and are employed in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences he/she expresses when surfing the internet. European and Italian legislation requires the user to be properly informed concerning their use and to express his valid consent. Article 122 of the Code refers to these when it states that “the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contractor or of a user or access to information already stored, is only allowed provided the contractor or the user has given consent after being informed by means of the simplified procedure envisaged by Article 13, paragraph 3 (art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code). There are no profiling cookies on the CELLOFANANDO website. Third-party cookies for marketing / retargeting purposes. Third-party cookies are used by third parties and they allow the user to view advertising banners on other linked sites showing the latest products displayed on the visited website. The are no third-party marketing / retargeting cookies on the CELLOFANANDO website.

Google Analytics

The CELLOFANANDO site does not include components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Again, these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies). Google Analytics uses “cookies” to collect and analyse information anonymously concerning usage behaviour on a website (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, who processes it in order to draw up reports for website operators concerning the activities on said website. This site does not use (and does not allow others to use) the Google analytics tool in order to track or collect personal identification information. Google will not associate the user’s IP address with any other data held by Google or seek to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google may also communicate this information to third parties if required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.
